Green woodworking in Wales

Come and join a unique and unusual green woodworking retreat, deep in the woods on the borders of the Brecon Beacons.

Led by Ben Kelleher of Benjamin Trees, you'll have the chance to start - and hopefully finish - the project of your choice. We'll have the choice of making spoons, spatulas, stools, chairs, shave horses, hazel fences and our unique "curly stools". Depending on how long you'll be staying (1 or 2 days) we'll either have material ready and waiting for you, or we'll take a wander to find just what we need.

These are fun, relaxed sessions, focussing on basic skills as well as the tools we use and knowledge about different kinds of woods and their uses. The days finish with a lovely campfire, food and, perhaps, a bit of music.

You can sign up for a single day session - we'll cover all the basics and have lots of fun - or make a weekend of it*, allowing more time to refine your skills and create more - or more complex - pieces.

(*For accommodation, there are lots of lovely B&Bs and hotels in the area. Of course, you're welcome to camp in the woods, but the facilities are very basic.)
