Off-grid: We have most of what you need here in the woods - but it is definitely an off-grid experience. There are cooking facilities, toilets, drinking water and even a hot shower. But it's mostly al fresco - in the open air: we aim for basic privacy where needed, but ceilings and roofs are not always in evidence ...you're really in nature, hearing the buzzards squealing, watching leaves sway and clouds float by.

Parking & access: To get to the woods themselves, you'll need a 4-wheel drive - which not everyone has. For those who do, we'll send you a What3Words reference and details of access and where to park. For the rest of us, we'll have What3Words reference and details for parking - this will generally be on hard standing or woodchip base in the neighbouring farmyard, although on occasions we might be able to arrange a parking spot in the local village. We'll run regular shuttle trips, pick-ups and put downs for people who park in either of those, ferrying you to and from the woods to your cars.

Clothing: We have covered areas for workshops, communal eating and relaxing so, should it rain (it likely will!), we will be fine ..and dry. But there are always walks from a to b that are uncovered - not to mention the local pub, a 20-minute stroll down our oftentimes muddy track - so plenty of waterproofs, boots and dry changes of clothes are highly recommended.

Shopping: As well as our village pub, the Shoemakers Arms, we're a 10-minute drive to Sennybridge, with a decent general store and cafe, two petrol stations and half a dozen pubs.

Communications: Mobile phone reception round here is pretty restricted. I get no signal in village or woodland with Vodafone. EE does get a signal to areas of the woodland - that's the emergency phone I keep ever ready. In the village, there is a public pay-phone, allowing free calls to UK landlines and mobiles. The pub has a decent wifi too.

Free time: We try to build in time and space in our weekend events for people to do whatever they want. You're welcome to take the boat out for a paddle in the lake, have a go with our green-wood-work tools whittling a spoon or spatula, or exploring the woodland and beyond. All weekends begin with a little orientation session which includes a full health and safety briefing.
