Mayfest at the Shoemakers

Launched in 2024, this is a unique festival based around the Shoemakers Arms, a community-owned pub in Pentre-bach, a short drive from Brecon along the A40.

Always over the Saturday and Sunday of the late May Bank Holiday, we aim to provide a warm welcome for all, with music for all tastes, great beers and summer drinks, barbeque and stuff for the kids too.

It's a free festival with free parking in a nearby field. Another field serves as campsite - £10 for the weekend.

This year we have guest performers from Majorca, Spain (The Ripples) and Capetown, South Africa (Julian Wenn). A proper Welsh flavour is provided by the always wonderful Llandovery Male Voice Choir.

The great line-up over the two days includes a Beatles cover band, wonderful Irish folk performances, raw blues and finger-picking swing, dance beats and more. Follow the updates on our Facebook page

For accommodation, there are lots of lovely B&Bs and hotels in the area, if you don't fancy the camping.
